"This generation may either be the last to exist in any semblance
of a civilised world or it will be the first to have the vision, the
bearing and the greatness to say ' I will have nothing to do with this
destruction of life, I will play no part in this devastation of the
land, I am determined to live and work for peaceful construction for
I am morally responsible for the world today and the generations tomorrow'"
Richard St Barbe-Baker Founder of "The Men of the Trees"
The Worldwide Reconnection Exchange Network is a global network of
individuals and groups committed to developing the
Ecological Self through the Work
that Reconnects. We are a project for the future, seeking to contribute
yeast for the rising loaf of building a sustainable and sustaining culture
for all beings. In order to achieve this goal we seek to
mobilise catalytic energy and
cross fertilisation, rediscovering time - supporting people in their
liberation - whilst being nurturing and nourished
break down the isolation and
loneliness of the Dark Age of the Industrial Growth Trance we are
now living through
share ways of accelerating the Work that
Reconnects whilst slowing down, finding ways to pioneer
being in balance between the inner and outer work.
encourage living more sustainably
on the Earth through the forum of The People Globalisation Network
(to the current dysfuctional corporate driven globalisation) so that
all may flourish in the flow of all life.
promote respect and recovery
of the diverse cultures and traditions of the world, bringing our
ancestors into contact with the present and the future through Deep
Time so as to recover our own indigenous roots
Being a Member of WwREN?
Membership of WwREN is free to all who are engaging in furthering the
Work that Reconnects. It aims to promote opportunities for international
exchange training programs, using the techniques pioneered through LETSystems
and TALENTS, (locally initiated, democratically controlled community
enterprises which trade for goods and services using a local currency
issued at the point of sale). By assisting others in attending training
programs around the world in the Work that Reconnects, and its related
fields, one can earn WwREN "Eggs" which can be spent internationally
in securing training for oneself. We believe that such exchange is a
sharing process in which money need not be an obstacle to having any
project happen. Through the exchange of WwREN Eggs we will be healing
the wounds created by and transforming our attitudes to conventional
money encouraging the international shift economically to the realisation
that money is energy harnessed by information, not a commodity. Through
building this trust we can start living simply and sustainably. (For
more information about LETSystems please click
here)
Members are encouraged to contribute to the trading directory, offered
through the form that appears at the end of this page. Both goods and
services offered, as well as goods and services requested are sought.
Decision making through WwREN is by means of the process of a "Clearness
Committee", a communal process of discernment pioneered by
the Quakers in the 1660s. Unlike normal "Clearness Sessions"
which occur only in a face to face session, WwREN encourages the use
of the Clearness process in all fora, including the Internet. Please
read the notes at the link [above]
for firther information.
What is WwRENNET?
WwRENNET is a dedicated list-server for WwREN Members to keep in touch
electronically, to share ideas, information, training and support. Again
joining WwRENNET is free. If you are interested in joining WwRENNET
please [click here].
Using the WwRENNET discussion list is an art. In order to understand
a little about the listserver protocols
we use it is a good idea to [check

Being in touch beyond the Internet?
For a monthly recurrent element for WwREN to recognise our deep interconnectedness
without the internet, or even electricity, we suggest:
To dance the Elm Dance on a full moon around the
world, beginning at 8.00pm local time over the Pacific and in the far
East where the date changes first, and going west, from the Pacific
Islands, Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa, the Americas and to Hawaii.
(For information about the Elm
Dance or the words and its
translation and interpretation, click here)
This means:
1. At full moon, the Elm Dance is being danced for the whole day somewhere
on Earth, as the 8.00pm time-zone moves across the face of the planet.
2. We create a strong interconnected network for our own empowerment
in WwREN.
3. We initiate a global energy for beneficial, life sustaining globalisation,
that we are the mainstream (against the short-sighted economic globalisation,
which is imperialistic, patriarchal and dysfunctional).
4. The Elm Dance in this way returns to its source. Originally a song
of the cultural resistance movement in Latvia against the suppression
by the government of the Soviet Union, for liberation and interdependence,
the Elm Dance now might achieve a global meaning for the resistance
movement against capitalist economic globalisation, and exploitation
and war by the rich industrial countries of the poor.
5. The Elm Dance is a peaceful, non-violent action. We can do it everywhere,
even alone. It does not take much effort, only to dance.
6. Dancing is a symbol of human expression throughout all times, all
over the world. It connects us with our ancestors in the past, with
indigenous people in the present and with future beings. It is a deep
time experience. Perhaps, in this way we can build the first planetary
song-line.
7. With the symbol of the full moon we invite female energies to become
a responsible power in our culture, contributing as it does in full
equality to the earth's vitality, to support our network.
The number seven (7) symbolises the evolutionary process of this present
planet time.
It is not divisible by any other number except one and itself.
Our Worldwide Reconnection Exchange Network (WwREN) is similarly indivisible.
Seven days are a quarter of the siderial lunar cycle. Four lots
of seven make twenty eight days, which is the siderial length of the
orbit of the moon. There were thirteen such lunar months in the year
- another indivisible number.
Every seven years all cells in our body are rejuvenated. Not a single
atom of the previous body you inhabited may remain.
People of the Book - Jews, Christians and Muslims - believe that
the world was created in six days, and the seventh was a day of rest.
As a result, in the Jewish faith, every seventh year you have a sabbatical,
and as a Jubilee year, all debts were forgiven and slaves were freed.
There are seven colours in the visible spectrum of the rainbow,
recognisable to the human eye. With the rainbow God promised Noah
that he would not attempt to destroy the earth again.
The Biblical Book of Genesis the Pharoah dreamed of seven fat and
seven thin cows. Joseph taught that by preparing in the seven good
years to follow, Egypt could survive the seven poor years that were
to come. In this way Egypt, and the people of Israel were saved from
famine. ·
The Pleiades are also called the "seven sisters". In Greek mythology
they were seven daughters of Atlas, who held the heavens on his shoulders.
Amongst north American and Australian Aboriginal people there were
tribes who believed that life came from the seven sisters.
Children loose their milk teeth at the age of seven. This is the
time they leave infancy and begin the process of development towards
adulthood. Many cultures practiced initiation rituals at the onset
of puberty at 14 (2x7) or with adulthood at 21 (3x7).
At the Saturn Return, your 28th year (4x7), all visible planets
will have passed at least once through the position that they occupied
at the moment of your birth.
In the Sumerian Creation myth, in which the mental DNA of our culture
was forged, there were six generations of gods involved in the creation.
In the seventh generation the youngest Gods went on strike, refusing
to continue the labour needed to keep creation working smoothly. To
overcome the problem, Enki, God of wisdom, persuaded the Gods to make
humanity to keep the world going successfully.
